LET'S FIND YOUR FIT

Which pack suits your computer?

WHAT SMART ADDS · ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

“Why is the equipment shipment late?”

“La réception du matériel a été reportée.”Related meaning. The original passage. A link to its source.

Semantic search is optional and starts off. Original filename and content search still work without a model. Results depend on your indexed documents and the query.

01 / LESS SEARCHING, MORE FINDING

Start with what
you remember.

Names are only the beginning. Search inside your files, then see the matching page before you even open them.

02 / LOOK A LITTLE DEEPER

The sentence.
The slide.
The screenshot.

The useful bit is rarely on the cover. PlanSearch looks through document text, presentation notes and comments, spreadsheets, and text recognized in images.

Results bring you to the matching page with the words highlighted. Cached visual previews make returning to a file feel familiar.

04 / PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Your files have
a home.
Let’s keep them there.

Your documents, search index, OCR and previews stay on your computer. Desktop search works offline. There’s no document upload and no search account to create.

The website uses PayPal for checkout. That payment is separate from your private desktop library.

THE LITTLE THINGS ADD UP

Designed to stay
out of your way.

01

The right matches, first.

Exact words and phrases come before close spellings and partial matches. Accent-friendly search helps with everyday French. Turn spelling suggestions on or off.

02

A head start on every search.

Discovered files are searchable by name right away. Content joins your results as background indexing progresses, with a clear count in the footer.

03

Your desktop, one search away.

A compact desktop widget puts search within reach. Jump to a file or its folder without breaking your train of thought.

04

A library that keeps up.

Watched folders pick up new and changed files. Cached previews avoid repeating work, and you can pause indexing whenever you need to.

05

A better view of the answer.

See the file name, extension, author when available, and dates. Browse a grid, a list, or a timeline, then move through the document’s pages.

06

Your protected documents.

Enter a known password or explicitly start local recovery for supported Office and PDF files. Indexing and OCR pause while previews stay available. Recovery is never guaranteed.

A SMALL PURCHASE. A LITTLE MORE FOCUS.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
make room.

Does it need the internet?

Desktop indexing, OCR, search and cached previews work locally. You need an internet connection to purchase and download PlanSearch. Some Office previews require a locally installed renderer, such as Microsoft Office or LibreOffice.

What can it find inside my files?

Text in supported Word documents, Excel workbooks, PowerPoint slides and their notes and comments, PDFs, text files, and supported images through OCR. Extraction depends on the format, file condition and protection. Files that cannot be read remain searchable by filename.

Will it slow down my computer?

The first index takes time, especially for scanned documents. PlanSearch runs extraction in background workers, caches previews, and shows progress. You can pause indexing. Search speed depends on your computer, library and query.

Is every document preview available?

Images, text and PDFs have local preview readers. Office preview quality depends on available rendering software, fonts and the document itself. Unsupported, damaged or locked files may need to be opened in their original application.

Is the $10 a donation or a purchase?

It is a required $10 USD one-time purchase for the current desktop release. It supports ongoing development, but it is not an optional charitable donation. There is no subscription and no promise of free future major versions.

Which packs and operating systems can I download?

The current Essential release is prepared for Windows x64. Smart installers are pending validation, and Pro AI is a preview pack. macOS and Linux downloads become available after their native packages are built and tested. Choosing a pack does not make an unavailable installer available. Checkout stays disabled for unreleased platforms. Local password recovery currently uses the bundled Windows engine.

Can password recovery always unlock a file?

No. Recovery time depends on the password and encryption, and some passwords are not practical to recover. It runs only on your computer. Automatic recovery is off by default; you can start or cancel an individual job and continue browsing previews.
